Indian Aviation Fire Safety Specialists Group (IAFSSG) is registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. IAFSSG is a non-profit group established by Aviation Fire Service personnel of India in 2002. The overall objective of the IAFSSG has been promotion and dissemination of technical knowledge, awareness and up gradation of fire safety standards among Airport Rescue and Fire Fighter personnel in particular and personnel employed in the Aviation Sector in general. The group exchange their know how through an official Journal “Aviation Fire Safety News” published once in four months. The journal is serving as a guidance material to the Airport Fire Service personnel and others. IAFSSG addresses the practical problems faced by the Airport Fire Services in the Worldwide with regulatory authorities from time to time.
Our Aims & Objectives
- To bring all Indian and Overseas Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting professionals and other Aviation Fire Safety enthusiasts under one Group.
- To promote and upgrade the overall standard of Aviation safety in general and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting in particular.
- To serve as a platform to share the experience gained in this field and also to enhance the knowledge and skill of members of the IAFSSG.
- To organize seminars, conference, training programme etc., to promote technical knowledge and professional competency among the members and also for creating greater Aviation Fire Safety consciousness among various sections of the public.
- To identify service and professional problems/bottlenecks commonly affecting the progress, development and wellbeing of the Aviation Rescue & Fire Services and to render all possible assistance in resolving such issues.
- To serve as a forum for safeguarding the legitimate functional authority status and privileges of the members of the group with a view to improve their conditions of service, professional standards, working conditions, monetary benefits, and for ensuring maintenance of proper standard of health and safety.
- To actively follow-up and render assistance in the process of speedy implementation of the recommendations of the Civil Aviation Authority , International Civil Aviation Oraganization or other statutory requirements by the Government and other authorities for bringing about uniformity and improvement in the organizational standards, professional efficiency etc., of all members of the IAFSSG.
- To maintain liaison and cordial relations with other National and International professional bodies having similar or allied aims and objectives.
